In December, the hate group Yalies4Palestine launched a Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign urging the Yale College Council to pass an antisemitic resolution urging the university's leadership to stop doing business with AMAG, a subsidiary of G4S, one of the world's largest and most reputable security companies.
Their reasoning? Members of the anti-Israel group claimed that Yale's reliance on G4S has made the university complicit in using "technologies used by private prisons, migrant detention centers, and the apartheid regime in Israel." In the coming days, the Yale College Council will be voting on this shameful resolution, requiring urgent action from Israel’s supporters.
As usual, members of Yalies4Palestine failed to provide any example of how the Middle East's sole democracy uses G4S to abuse Palestinian civilians. Instead, the petition applied a double standard and slaps Israel with the utterly false "apartheid" label as a means to invoke hatred against America's closest ally while aiming to isolate any business that chooses to partner with Israel to make the world safer and more secure.
In reality, Israel is a thriving and diverse democracy and one of the most progressive countries in the world. People from all religious backgrounds, races, and beliefs are welcomed and are provided with equal rights and opportunities. Additionally, Israel, above all, seeks to protect all civilians and has designed technology, such as the Iron Dome, which saves Israeli lives and minimizes casualties in Gaza and the West Bank during conflicts.
Unfortunately, supporters of the radical BDS Movement ignore these truths in order to vilify Israel while ostracizing members of the Jewish community. This disturbing reality has resulted in world leaders, including President Biden, denouncing BDS while states legislatures across America pass anti-BDS laws to combat Jew-hatred and discrimination against Israel.
